Brought up in Scotland back in the 60’s and that brought back memories. The potato wrapped in foil that is because we used to do the exact same thing, don’t think we had a name for it , it would just be suggested and it would happen. There was a potato field on edge of town and we would sneak in and steal some potatoes, foil would magically appear and into the embers of the fire the potatoes would go…. And yes, a taste all of their own that can’t be replicated in an oven or gas cooker.
Somethings in life will never change and I’m sure there’s a group of kids doing this somewhere in the world
